Cunico Resources' production accounts for almost 10% of the global ferro-nickel market

Our business

Cunico Resources has two major production plants which operate in the Balkans - FENI Industries and the NewCo Ferronikeli Complex.

Continuous investment

In the past neither Balkan facility has run at full capacity. Cunico Resources has continuously invested in equipment and production technology, and today, both facilities have exceeded their projected potential with all Rotary kilns and electric-arc furnaces operating at maximum capacity.

The Group is strategically focussing on further technological enhancements and expects its plants to reach a combined output of 35,000 tonnes per year by 2012.

 

Products and applications

Cunico Resources’ production facilities specialize in producing ingots of clean iron (70-80%) in addition to nickel produced.  

The Nickel market

Primary nickel was first isolated as a separate metal in the mid 18th century, It was found that by combining primary nickel with steel, the durability and strength of the steel increased significantly.  

FENI Industries

FENI Industries in Kavadarci joined Cunico Resources in 2005 and production has since increased to over 16,000 tonnes per annum.    

NewCo Ferronikeli

NewCo Ferronikeli comprises a refurbished nickel production plant as well as mineral deposits in Drenas.  

Sales and marketing

Located in the global business city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is the Group’s marketing and sales branch, Cunico Marketing FZE.
