Human resources

We recognize at Cunico Resources that our human resources are the most crucial productive resource at our disposal. Our employees have been the key to our success thus far and maintaining the good relationships between our employees and our management teams is of the utmost importance to us.

Therefore, in order to protect the integrity of our human resource relations, Cunico Resources follows a number of key principles to ensure good employee management and suitable working conditions.

These are to:

• establish, maintain and improve worker-management relationships
• promote fair treatment, non-discrimination and equal opportunity of workers and comply with national labour and employment laws
• continuously monitor workplace conditions to ensure the adequate protection of the workforce, compliance with legal requirements and recognised best practice
• conduct routine medical monitoring and fitness-to-work assessments
• protect the workforce by addressing employment conditions
• promote safe and healthy working conditions

Cunico Resources employs over 2,350 people in the Balkans, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates. 2000 of these employees are based either at FENI Industries or NewCo Ferronikeli in the Balkans, where unemployment is particularly high. Both of these facilities have become highly regarded employers.

In Kavadarci, FENI Industries provides numerous internships to students and also sponsors various local knowledge enhancement programmes every year.

NewCo Ferronikeli in Drenas, was proud to honour its commitment to employ 1,000 local workers by the start of operations and also engages in an ongoing internal skills development programme, to train NewCo Ferronikeli employee teams at the operational FENI Industries smelter in Kavadarci. Newco Ferronikeli also runs several external programmes with the similar goal of employee skills development.
